Let's inspire some creativity!
Classes
Embrace your creativity! Educational interaction is at the heart of our mission at West Nebraska Arts Center. Arts professionals offer a variety of studio art classes and workshops year round for adults and youth. Let us know what classes you would like to see offered.
After School Art Program
Our youth are future artists and audience for the arts. The goal of WNAC's seven month After School Art Program is to offer visual arts education to grades 1-6 using the Nebraska State Standards for Fine Arts Education as a guide. Students will develop skills to create, present, respond to, and connect art with the human experience.
Through exploration of media-painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture, applied design, and technology-they will begin to develop an understanding of the principles of art and elements of design, deepening their expressive and critical faculties, honing their art skills, and cultivating their imagination. Each child will create a portfolio of their work through the program and have the opportunity to participate in a gallery exhibit during the month of April.
Art Camps
WNAC offers two visual arts workshops every year in June to youth of our community. Art Camp 1 is open to students ages 6-9 and Art Camp 2 is open to student 10-15.
Teaching
Want to teach a class? West Nebraska Arts Center is always looking for new ideas in art education and innovative, creative instructors who are passionate about teaching art to youth and adults. If you are interested in teaching a specific class or workshop, and have professional and/or teaching experience in your field, we would love to hear from you. The first step in the process is to complete and submit a New Class Proposal form (click on the button below).
We welcome class ideas in art history, the business side of the arts, calligraphy, ceramics, decorative and household arts, digital art and design, photography, mosaic, fiber arts, jewelry, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, as well as innovative new media and techniques, environmental arts, and much more. If you have questions or would like assistance in completing the class proposal form, please call Steph at 308-632-2226 or email steph@thewnac.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
